These snippets from his book "From Death Into Life" are provided to aid further research.

WH was born in Sumatra in 1818 to Thomas Haslam and Eliza (Pyefinch). He was baptised 1st December, 1819.
In 1846, aged 23, he obtained a bachelor of arts degree from University College, Durham.
In the same year he became curate at Perranzabuloe church, Cornwall.
In 1846 he married Frances Ann Taunton of Totnes, Devon. In the same year he became vicar of Baldhu church, Cornwall.
In 1857 he became vicar of Carnmenellis, Cornwall.
In 1857 he took up a new charge as a curate at St John's church in the town of Hayle, Cornwall.
He remained there until he was dismissed by the unsympathetic rector in 1860.
His book "Yet Not I" provides details of his subsequent ministerial placements after he left Cornwall:
The first of these was the charge of the district of St Paul's in the parish of Holy Trinity in the City of Bath beginning in 1861.
In 1863 he became the rector of the village church of Buckenham with Hassingham, Norfolk.
In 1871 he became the vicar of Little Missenden, Buckinghamshire.
In 1872 he became the minister in charge of Curzon Chapel, Mayfair, Westminster, serving there until 1878.
Thereafter, he was a speaker at nine of the annual Keswick Conventions in Cumbria.
He died January 26th, 1905 at 11, Grosvenor Gardens, St. Leonards on Sea, East Sussex of heart failure and pneumonia.

|
|
William Haslam remarried after the death of his first wife Frances. | Quote: | | William Haslam had once thought that his life's work was to be at Baldhu; now he thought that it would be at Curzon Chapel. He was again wrong. In 1876 Earl Howe died and his heir determined to demolish the Chapel to make way for something more profitable. During the two years he remained there his wife, the mother of at least fifteen children, died. A few years later he married Eliza, who proved to be as great a help and encouragement to him as Frances had been. | The above paragraph is copied from Philip Evans' article in the Evangelical Library Bulletin. The subsequent paragraph includes the following: | Quote: | | During the winter of 1890 he and Eliza took "the message of Keswick" to India. On the last night of the tour he preached to a packed Bombay church when he "seemed to be full of the love of God and the joy of His service". | There is a footnote [8] to The Bombay Guardian March 21st 1891. |
